Action learning

Two public establishments of the International Baccalaureate Program held learning workshops in Ojochal and Playa Ventanas.

The Gregorio José Ramirez College of Montecillos de Alajuela and the South Pacific High School of Osa came together to live educational experiences and carry out outdoor laboratories.

Students cleaned up trash from Playa Ventanas, planted 220 trees along the banks of the Ojochal de Osa River, and measured water pollution by counting macroinvertebrates present in the river. They were also able to learn a little about indigenous culture by participating in painting, weaving and mask-making workshops.

An interesting experience of education through action which will certainly leave an impression on all participants.
